A year ago today a small child thrust a smaller spotted puppy into my arms after I just asked to pet her. It was warm outside and her little belly pressed against my chest caused me to sweat.
She nuzzled into my rug and fell right asleep.
My arms ached. She was so warm. I felt that warmth long after I handed her back.
I’m in tears in this photo. I knew right then if I didn’t have her, I would regret it every time I saw another dog. If I never held her, my life wouldn’t be as beautiful as it is today. Third best day of my life.
